A place where love reaches people

We are committed to being a place where love reaches people, wherever they are at, inspiring them to find and follow Jesus, and helping them connect in a community where they can discover their next right steps of faith. Toward that end, our approach to church gatherings is to offer Online Services, In-Person Gatherings, and a variety of Small Group Connection Opportunities.

IN PERSON SERVICES

Sundays at Arlington FM

As our region and country continue reopening, our staff has implemented a plan that ensures adherence to all CDC guidelines. Since your safety is our top priority, we have made significant efforts to guarantee our facilities meet CDC and Washington State guidelines. We’re going to continue to modify the parts of our services that required physical contact before (such as passing offering bags and greeting each other with handshakes), and we’re doing everything we can to keep our facilities clean and safe. Our mask policy is we ask that you comply with the current Snohomish County Health Policy. Currently, masks are optional for indoor gatherings. Our next In Person services are this Sunday at 10:00AM. Come join us!

CHILDREN & STUDENT MINISTRIES UPDATE: OTHER THAN ONGOING SANITATION PROCEDURES, COVID PROTOCOLS ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED. MASK WEARING IS OPTIONAL AT THIS TIME.

Our goal is to gather together in a way that meets and/or exceeds CDC standards, Washington State School Reopening Guidelines, and Washington State Childcare Guidelines.

KID CITY MINISTRIES

Kids are so excited to see each other again.  Nothing compares to the fun of sharing and learning together.

Parents: Here are the steps we are taking to provide a safe ministry experience for both your children and our volunteers:

  1. We currently have in-person teaching and activities for kids K- 5th grade in Kid City and Birth - Pre-K in Kid City Jr.

  2. All kids (and anyone who comes inside) will be temperature checked and given a happy face sticker to show they are within acceptable range.  Anyone with a temperature above the safe range will be asked to stay with parents and join us online at home for adult and children’s services.

  3. All our seating and activities have been adequately sanitized and spaced ready for each week.

  4. They will have supervised play time when they arrive.  Any shared tactile items like Legos, magnets and board games have been removed from the play areas. Large easy to wipe items remain for their fun and enjoyment.

  5. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils have been individually packaged for kids to use if needed.

  6. Hand sanitizer and wipes are readily available as needed.

  7. If a snack or water is served they will be individually packaged and not shared. Small water bottles are replacing drinking fountains.

Kid City Jr. COVID-19 Policies

Stay home if sick. If you or your child has felt unwell, or displayed signs of COVID-19, we ask that all household members stay home until they’ve been symptom-free without medication for at least 48 hours. Kid City Jr. will be open to well individuals only.

It is our goal to meet or exceed guidelines set by the CDC, Washington State DOH, and the Free Methodist PNWC. All surfaces will be adequately sanitized before volunteers and children enter the classrooms.

Check-in

  • Temperature checks for volunteers: All volunteers will be asked to sign-in by the church office upon arrival and take their own temperature. Volunteers must be fever-free.

  • Temperature checks for kids:  A check-in volunteer will take each child’s temperature with a no-touch thermometer. Children who are fever free will be given a smiley face sticker to go on their name badge and admitted to Kid City Jr.

  • Drop-off and pick-up: Families should make sure to stay appropriately distanced from other families in the hallway on the way to and from Kid City Jr. classrooms.

PPE

  • Masks for adults: All volunteers are required to wear masks. We ask that all parents wear a mask during drop-off and pick-up.

  • Masks for kids: Kids ages 5 and up are required to wear face masks. Child-sized masks will be provided at check-in for kids that need them.

  • We encourage Preschoolers to wear a mask but also recognize the challenge with maintaining mask adherence at such a young age.

  • Hand sanitizing: Volunteers must wash or sanitize their hands or put on gloves. Gloves will be provided in individual Kid City Jr. rooms along with hand washing stations and hand sanitizer.

In the Classroom

  • Classroom cleanliness: Toys, books, and other high-touch surfaces will be routinely disinfected and rotated. We will pause the use of small toys, large pillows or stuffed animals, and other materials that are difficult to clean.

  • Craft supplies: Each child will receive a labeled bag with craft supplies and play dough that will remain in the room and be used only by that child.

  • Physical distancing: We will continue to practice physical distancing as much as possible to reduce risk, but we know this is a difficult task with preschool and younger children.

  • Snacks: Kids will be served prepackaged, age-appropriate snacks and given small bottles of water to drink. Sippy cups will be provided for kids who need them as we will not be allowing cups or bottles from home in our rooms.

  • Personal belongings: Children coming with backpacks or bags will be able to hang them on hooks in the hallway or place in a cubby, but we will not be allowing them in our classrooms at this time.

STUDENT MINISTRIES

Dear AFMC Students and Families,

I am excited to announce that I, Jared Huff, am now serving as the Interim Youth Pastor for ArlingtonFM’s Ignite Youth Ministry. I am both humbled and blessed to be officially serving alongside the ArlingtonFM staff in this capacity. I will be working with the middle and high school youth group in this part-time leadership role through the end of the 2022 school year.

For those who don’t already know me, I grew up attending ArlingtonFM from my early childhood and was a student in Ignite Youth Ministries through middle and high school. After graduating from Arlington High School, I attended Seattle Pacific University for the next four years. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Washington State Secondary Education Teaching Certificate, and a minor in Youth Ministry. During this time at college, I volunteered at the youth group at First Free Methodist Church near SPU’s campus. I periodically returned to the Ignite Youth Ministries at ArlingtonFM to volunteer when possible. I am so thankful for the work that God has done in my life to equip me to return and serve the youth at ArlingtonFM.

Check out our Facebook (Ignite Youth Ministry) and Instagram (@ignitearlington) for the most up to date information.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Blessings,

Jared Huff
